Erasmus Huis from February 29 until March 28, 2008 displaying the 50 works of 16 contemporary photographers and visual artist, in the event titled an “Indonesian Dreams”.

The exhibition opened on Thursday 28, 2008 by Dutch Ambassador Mr Niko Laos Van Dam and attended by more than 100 guests from various communities such as diplomat, artist and student.

According Tino Jumini, curator of the exhibition, through the event we would like to give the image of photography as a documentary tools of Indonesian culture and community development, especially in urban area. 

The exhibition shows photographs and audio visual works representing aspects of daily life of Indonesian People’s in today’s society.

Some picture shows the traditions and rituals such as wedding ceremonies, family portraits, journey of the pilgrimages and works that disclose a glimpse of Indonesia in the near future.

Tino further mention that the visitor of the exhibition could value the portrait that displayed without bind with art aesthetics.

On the occasion of opening, also launched bilingual book with same title of the exhibition. the book contain the 60 portrait that displayed in the exhibition and essays with 142 pages, price Rp 200,000,-.

  1. Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Taking the time and actual effort
    to create a superb article… but what can I say… I put things
    off a whole lot and don’t seem to get nearly anything done.
