Mandiri Leads a Market Share at Foreign Currency Syndication Credit

PT Bank Mandiri Tbk got a first position as foreign currency syndication credit market share in indonesian bank for first quarter of 2008 with total USD 55 million or 7,7%.

 

Next, followed by Bank Ekspor Indonesia (BEI) with market share 3,3%. Since January 2008, BEI had syndication credit channeling with amount USD 23 million.

 

On third rank is Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) that had channeling USD 5 million for one project in first quarter of 2008.

 

Pahala Mansyuri, Chief Finance Officer PT Bank Mandiri (04/04) said that in early 2008, the company aggresively chanelling new credit syndication, in spite of credit cycles showed decrease trend.

 

Pahala acknowledged that first quarter credit channeling cycles is in down trend.

 

But, if consolidated with foreign banks. Indonesian banks not on higher position in controlling the market share of foreign currency syndication credit.

 

Mizuho Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, each had channeling USD 105 million or control 14,7% of market share and followed by Standard Chartered bank (Stanchart) at 13,7% with amount USD 99 million then followed by Bank Mandiri.
